1. This program helps you make backup by showing you which file is changed so you can easily make backup of changed files.
2. Installing : open file " setup.exe ". If a downloaded file is zipped, unzip with Good Zip Freeware and open it. Then click next > yes > next > next.
3. File Alert Monitor window opens. Check out your taskbar, then click File Alert Monitor Setup, click finish.
At File Alert Monitor window, click shortcut " File Alert Monitor ".
Program opens.
4. Setting : click menu folder > add > select folder you want to monitor. Program will monitor only files in selected folders.
In the picture above, you can add new folders by right clicking the selected folder, then select add.
Click menu view > options.
At tab general,
at refresh interval, give program time to stop monitoring after it's done monitoring.
at monitoring, select changing format that program will monitor.
If you want program to open automatically when computer starts, check run on system startup check box. Then click Apply.
At tab alert, select alert patterns. Program will show alert when it has found changes.
At tab file types,
if you want all files to be monitored, check All file types, then click Apply.
If you want to choose file type to be monitored check specified by smart monitor , then click Customize > Add... > type file extension > OK > OK > Apply.
At tab logging, to record changes to file, check Log events to file check box, that file will be stored in the path below.
Click Apply > OK.
The contents of that file is like :
2006.05.19 17:39:23.671;Run application.
2006.05.19 17:39:23.671;Run log event.
2006.05.19 17:40:24.125;New file '3.txt' has been found in 'C: \New\Vital Files\'.
5. Close File Alert Monitor window, but program is still running, you can see its icon in a notification area.
Click the icon to open program window and change the settings you like.....Done !
