1. Installing : open your downloaded file. If it is zipped, unzip with Good Zip Freeware and open it. Then click es > next > yes > next > next > install > finish.
A file "Readme.txt" opens, close it.
2. Click start > all programs > VirtuaWin > VirtaWin.
The message says "Error reading config file. This is probably due to new user setup. A new config file will be created. "
Click OK. The program icon shows at a notification area.
3. Settings : right click the program icon then select setup. Click tab keys, at hot keys, set hot keys to change the desktop.
This program gives you 9 desktops. At desk 1, type the key then check the check box behind WIN key. In the picture above, if you want to change to desktop 2, press and hold "Windows" key and press "2" key.
At tab mouse, at basic, to change a desktop by using a mouse, select mouse support. You can move a mouse to the specific position on the screen to change a desktop.
I think you should not check "Mouse Support" check box, because it's easy to change the desktop accidentally with this way.
At tab misc, at number of desktops, you can define the number of desktops you wan to use.
Then click apply > OK.
4. To know where a thing is, click the program icon.
In the picture above, The desktop 1, drive C is open. The desktop 2, drive D is open.
To merge things, If you are in the desktop 2 and want to merge things from other desktops to the desktop 2, right click the program icon then select gather.
To make every desktop show what you want, in the picture above, to show drive C in every desktop, click 1-C.
Click the program icon you will see the menus 2-D and 2-C with the check symbol that means the desktop 2, drive C and D are open.
If you change to the desktop 1, drive C is open. Now drive C shows on every desktop.
Click the program icon then select the menu 2-C with the check symbol. Drive C will disappear from the desktop 1. Click the program icon then select the menu 2-C, Drive C will appear on the desktop 1. You close drive C window, it will disappear from every desktop. This process may get you confused so you have to stay focused.
If drive C shows on every desktop, but you want it to show on the desktop 4 only. To do that, change to the desktop 4 then click the program icon and select the menu 4-C with the check symbol.
Now you get the idea, if you want drive C to show on the desktop 3 only, change to the desktop 3 then click the program icon and select the menu 3-C with the check symbol.....Done !
