1. Installing : open your downloaded file. If it is zipped, unzip with Good Zip Freeware and open it. Then click next > next > next > finish.
2. MWSnap windows opens, click file shortcut " MWSnap 3".
A new window opens, select a language then click OK.
A program main window opens. The program icon shows in a notification area.
3. Settings : click menu tools > settings.
At tab auto-saving,
in the picture above, at number 1, check "auto-saving is active" check box to save a picture automatically after capturing. If you want to edit a captured picture in this program before saving, you should not check this option.
At number 2, select a file format, your options are bmp, jpeg, gif, png and tiff.
At number 3, set where to store a saved picture.
At number4, check "use this file name" radio button in order to name your picture automatically. Then at number 5 check "auto-add numeric suffix" check box and select a starting number at number 6 then select a maximum number at number 7.
You can name each file manually by checking "Prompt for each file name" radio button.
4. To set hotkeys, click menu tools > hotkeys.
A new window opens to set hotkeys, set what you want then click Apply > OK.
5. Capturing : the options are,
a. Fixed-size rectangle : click menu tools > settings > at tab fixed sized > add new > set your desired size > OK > apply > OK. Click the arrow to select size you set.
To capture, click menu capture > fixed-size rectangle.
The region shows in the screen, move a mouse pointer to anywhere you want. Click to capture, press Esc to cancel.
b. Any area : this way you can define the region to capture, to capture, click menu capture > any area. Or press a hotkey you set.
A mouse pointer is changed to a plus symbol, click and hold then drag a mouse to make a region. Click to capture, press Esc to cancel.
c. Window/menu : to capture with this way, open a window you want to capture then go to the program main window and click menu capture > Window/menu.
There is a fixed region showing in the screen, when you move a mouse pointer to other parts of the window, that region is changed. Click to capture, press Esc to cancel.
d. Full desktop : capture all screen.
e. Repeat last capture
6. To edit a picture, click menu edit then select the submenu you want. After editing, click menu file > save as > name and locate a picture file.
One difference between Zip program and JPEGCompress 2.0.1 is JPEGCompress was built for reducing the size of image files.
7. Color picture : click menu tools > color picker. A new window opens.
When you move a mouse pointer over the color on the screen, in the left pane of the new window is a magnifier for magnifying that color. Click to grab the color.
In the picture above, in the right pane shows the grabbed color. To copy a color code, select the grabbed color, a new window shows a color code then click the button below.
8. Viewing the pictures :
In the picture above, click tab view > select a drive that stores the pictures > select a file type > select a picture.
When you press a minimize button, the program icon shows in a notification area.....Done !
