1. Installing : open your downloaded file. If it is zipped, unzip with Good Zip Freeware and open it.
Click Accept > Next > Select your English locale > Install > OK.
The program icon shows at a notification area.
3. Looking up words :
a. In any program : press and hold Ctrl key then right click at the word you want to look up.
The program window shows
Customize fonts for easy reading : click menu Options > Fonts...
In the picture above, the related word tabs show the following types of related words when available:
Synonyms Words which mean the same in some context
e.g. close is a synonym of shut.
Antonyms Words meaning the opposite in some context
e.g. big is an antonym of little
See Also Mostly related word forms and compounds
e.g. cut gives see also cut off, cutter, etc.
Type of Shows less specific words.
e.g. a comedy is a type of play
Types Shows more specific words.
e.g. flower has daisy as one of its types
Parts Shows words for part of an object
e.g. tree is one of the parts of a forest
Part of Shows words for a collection or the whole
e.g. bumper is a part of a car
Similar Words with meanings that are close
e.g. big is similar to huge
In the picture above, the word "Fire" can be Nouns and Verb, you can tell by the right buttons.
b. By highlight text in program window, then right click at text highlighted and select Lookup word.
You can also use Back and Forward button.
Showing synonyms by sense : Many words have more than one meaning, so when you lookup a word there many be more than one definition displayed. To show just the synonyms of a particular sense, just move cursor over the number, tooltip shows synonyms.
If you click the number, synonyms will disply in tab Synonyms.
c. By typing word in search box.
3. To look up words on the web, connect to the internet, type word you want to look up in a search box, then click tab Web References, a new window opens asking you to be online, click OK.
