Mirror iPad Screen to Windows 11 For Free

1. Connect iPad and Windows machine to the same Wi-fi network.

2. Go to this URL github.com/leapbtw/uxplay-windows

3. At the right panel, click 'Latest'. 

 At 'Assets', select the installer file for your CPU.

4. Open the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen instructions to install the app.

If you see 'User Account control Dialog', click 'Yes'

 When you're done installing it, open the app.

 Bonjour Service is required, click 'Yes' to install it.

 When you're done installing it, open the app.

 It's asking you for allowing public and private network, I clicked 'Allow'.

According to Apple support,  iPados 13 or later, swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.

 In the picture above, tap the 'Screen Mirroring' icon. You will see uxplay-Windows in the list. Tap it.

 You're done!

 

 

After Updating to 25H2, Low Input Sound on Windows 11 is Fixed

I posted in the past that my low-cost laptop had an issue with input sound comparing to another one that is more expensive. My microphone is a USB mic.`

 

After updating to 25H2, that problem is gone.

Steps:

1. Connect a USB mic to a laptop, then Open ‘Settings’.

 

2. At the left pane, click ‘System’.

 

At the right pane, click ‘Sound’.

 

At ‘Input’, check your microphone.

 

And click the arrow.

 

The ‘Properties’ of your microphone will show.

 

I set ‘Input Volume’ to 99. If it’s too loud, you can change it.

Set ‘Audio enhancements’ to ‘Voice Clarity’.

Set ‘Voice Focus’ to ‘On’.

 

3. I record sound with ‘Sound Recorder’ app (it comes with Windows 11).

Quality is great. It won’t record noise -- fan, car engine, sound of mouse clicking.

 

 

Audio Enhancement Built-In Feature for Eliminating Background Noise on Windows 11

I have to say that I’ve been waiting this kind of feature for quite some time. No matter it is built in on macOS, Windows or any free sound recorder app I’ve been testing. None was available at that time until I’ve found on Windows 11.

1. I use USB mic to record my voice with Microsoft app ‘Sound Recorder’. 'Sound Recorder' comes with Windows 11.

This feature makes ‘Sound Recorder’ not to record sound of fan, engine, finger snap, cough and I think it should be more than this that I haven’t found out.

Sometimes it records noise and then stop recording it (I can tell by looking at the wave shape in ‘Sound Recorder’) while that noise continues. I think it learn that that sound is unwanted sound so it decides not to record it.

What it records (based on my usage): human voice and bird sounds.

This feature can be turned on/off. If you want that noise you can turn it off in ‘Settings’.

To access this feature, connect USB mic then open ‘Settings’.

Search ‘sound settings’

 

Set output if you want.

 

At input, click your USB mic.

Allow apps and Windows to use this device for audio.

At ‘Audio enhancement’, if you want to turn it off, select ‘Off’.

If you want to turn it on, select ‘Device Default Effects’.

2. Open ‘Sound Recorder’ and start recording.

I have 2 laptops, audio wave shape in ‘Sound Recorder’ of the one that is cheaper is shorter than another laptop. When I playback that audio, sound level is lower. Other factors are the same – USB Mic, volume setting, gain setting of USB mic …

The noise I mentioned is not recorded but the cheaper laptop of mine gives me lower level of loudness.

 

OBS Studio (FREE) - Record Background Window with Audio on Windows – Can Hear While Recording

You can do something else while the app is recording a screen but the result contains black part when window is resized or the target area won’t fit the frame.

1. Go to the link above to download a file.

Open the downloaded file.

The dialog ‘User Account Control’ shows, click ‘Yes’

Follow the on-screen window to install the app.

When it’s done, click ‘Finish’.

2. OBS Studio opens.

I chose ‘Optimize just for recording….’ by clicking in front of the line, the blue circle will be placed.

The next window shows.

You can see the options I chose in the picture above.

The final result shows, click ‘Apply Settings’.

The picture above is the target window. Video and audio playing with the app called ‘VLC’.

3. The main window shows.

At section ‘Source’, click +.

Select ‘Window Capture’.

The new window shows, click ‘OK’.

The next window shows, I selected ‘VLC…’ in the list of windows. And I checked ‘Capture Audio (BETA) then click 'OK'.

In the picture above, you can see the frame and the target window. You can resize or move the target window.

At ‘Control’ section, I clicked ‘Start Recording’.

The button will be changed to ‘Stop Recording’.

The result is, this app can not recording video playing in ‘VLC’ player.

But it can record audio coming from ‘VLC’ player.

In the picture above is properties of the output video, you can see the audio and video info.

When I resized the target window while recording, there is no issue.

I moved the target window while recording but the video in the output file was not moved.

I made the target window a background window while recording but the video in the output file, the target window did not stay in the background.

4. I changed target window to Firefox browser. There was no issue, it could record audio and video playing in the browser.

When I resized the target window while recording, the background window did not show in the video in the output file.

I don’t like the black part in the output file, I remember version of this app on macOS, there is no black part if I don’t resize the target window.

3RVX (FREE) – Beautiful Volume Overlay on Windows 11

 I haven’t found a way to remove or hide system volume overlay but it’s located at the bottom of the screen so it’s kind of hard to seen object.

3RVX can be placed the way you want so I can enjoy the beauty of it.

I will try to get the solution to remove system volume overlay.

2. Open the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen instruction to install the app.

Remember or create a shortcut of installation path because the settings file is there.

After it’s done installation, I went to the path below to setting up the app.

Open the file named ‘Settings’

At tab ‘General’, choose the skin.

If you choose the new skin but the ‘Apply’ button is greyed out, click ‘OK’, the ‘settings’ window will be closed, then open the ‘Settings’ file again. Click ‘Apply’, go back to target folder and open file ‘3RVX’.

I pressed the volume control on my keyboard laptop to change volume level.

Don’t forget to click button ‘Apply’ after the skin is selected.

The skin will show when you changed volume at system tray icon.

You can set hotkeys to change volume in tab ‘Hotkeys’

The amount and unit can be set.

Click the system tray icon of 3RVX to access menus.

Looking at the beautiful object can help you reduce stress.
