This app is old but still works on Windows 11. I don't see a grade calculation feature but it provides mark calculation by the server so you don't have to do it manually.
I think it can be used in job interview or other situations that is no need for a grade calculation.I tested on one laptop, not a network. This app provides offline usage. the quick steps are.
1. Run the server.
2. Export the test.
3. Use that exported test.
4. Copy a score file after the test is finished.
5. Import that test to the running server for calculating marks.
6. Stop the server.
It worked fine on my test but I haven't created multiple score files so I would do it while I wrote this post.
The test steps - iTest 1.4.1
OS: Windows 11 Home
Download from the developer's website: https://sourceforge.net/projects/itest/files/itest/
1. Go to a link above and select the version to download.
I selected 1.4.1, so I clicked a folder 1.4.1
Select a file with .exe.
Open the downloaded file and install the app.
I have 2 icons -- server and client.
2. Double click iTest server, then click 'New' to create the database for questions.
The 'Questions' section.
Click 'Add' icon and name the question. Name of a question will show in the list.
Select a name of question in a list, the right pane is active.
You can flag it or group it...etc...
I create a question in the box.
You can delete or add an answer by clicking + or -. Then check a correct answer. If you are done, click 'Apply'.
You can duplicate or delete a selected question by clicking the icon (see the picture above).
Create question 2, 3, 4, ....
The correct answer can be 2 answers.
Look at the picture above, after clicking 'Apply', * doesn't disappear. After clicking 'Save', it disappears.
3. If you're done creating questions, click 'Server Mode'.
I didn't use 'Flags', so I had to check 'Advanced' and 'Questions'.
To pick a question, select a question name and click the right arrow.
I've no idea how to select multiple questions at once. I think if I use 'Flags', there will be easier to pick questions.
Set the name of the test and others.
What I did: number of questions, time for the whole test, do not print test results, pass mark, do not show correct answer at the end of the test.
I checked 'Scoring system' and set a mark for correct/incorrect/missing answers.
Click 'Start server'
Don't stop the server until mark calculation is done.
4. Exporting the test.
Click menu 'Server' --> 'Export test'.
The exported test has a type 'iTest Off-line Test Session'.
Open iTest Client.
Check 'Use an iTest database file'.
Click 'Browse' and select a file.
Click 'Load'.
A new window shows the test information.
Click a button 'Ready' at the bottom of a window.
A welcome window shows, type a name and click 'Start'.
Do the test. If you are done, click 'Finish', then click 'Quit'. iTest Client will close.
The score file is located in C:\Users\your username
in my case, it looks like a picture above.
I created 2 score files for testing.
At server window, add off-line clients.
Choose the directory not files. In the picture above, I clicked 'Choose'
2 names show in the list.
Click the name, the result shows.
You can stop the server.
Automatic mark calculation is great but I think this app is abandoned.
