Windows Freeware Guide: Process Manager App - Search, Restart, Terminate

When button 'close application' doesn't work, I open 'Windows Task Manger' and go to tab 'Processes' I don't go to tab 'Applications' because some apps that stay at taskbar are not in the list, then search and select item and click 'End Process'

The searching process slows the workflow above. 'Windows Task Manger' doesn't have a search box. I can only search by clicking an item and type a program name, the program will select one item and I can see the other items in the same window. That is not clear, it's hard to tell the process is ended or not with all items in the same window.

I found this freeware, it has a search box and shows only search results without showing all items in the window. Here are the test steps.

1. Open the program > search 'host'. Look at the picture below, not only words 'host' in column 'name' were found but this freeware also searched through column 'Description'. It's easy to guess, it will search through all columns.

2. Right click at a column header, click 'Choose columns...'

3. If you don't want to type for searching, clear the search box > drag icon in the picture below, your mouse pointer will be changed to '+' symbol.

Drag and drop to a desired window, the item will be selected.

4. Select the process, right click. I can choose to terminate or restart the process.

5. What about highlighting? Click menu 'Options' > tab > highlighting > the description is there.

6. There are more options waiting for users to learn, I'm not involved with developers of this freeware, just want to support great programs the way I can.
